The goal node is a topic-node and contains one dependency network.  Often the terms dependency network and goal are used interchangeably.  In most cases this is okay, but a [[calculated data link]] is also a sort of dependency network, albeit one that is mathematically instead of logical.

Goals can be grouped for comparison/competition by using a [[goal group]].
